Privacy policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This policy explains how Pillar Financial Group LLC, doing business as Pillar Life Plans ("we," "us"), and Tanner Hertzog, a licensed life insurance agent, collect, use, and share personal information when you visit this website, fill out one of our forms (on this website, or on Facebook or Instagram), or communicate with us.
Information we collect
- What you give us: your name, phone number, state, email (if a form asks for it), and answers to our questions, such as who you want to protect, your date of birth, your monthly budget, tobacco use, or how you'd describe your health.
- Conversations: the text messages you exchange with us, recordings and notes of our phone calls, and appointments you schedule.
- When you use our form: to confirm the number is yours, we text it a one-time code through our verification provider. When you agree to be contacted, we record the wording you agreed to, which version of this policy and our terms was in effect, the time, your IP address and browser type, and the verification provider's confirmation, as a record of your consent. If you ask for a code but don't enter it, we still keep what you entered and agreed to, and may text you once at that number about your request.
- From advertising platforms: which of our ads you came from. If you submit a form on Facebook or Instagram instead, Meta sends us your answers along with that ad information.
- If you apply: the information an insurance application requires. Applications are submitted to the insurance company you choose and handled under that insurer's privacy notice as well.
- Website basics: standard technical information like browser type and pages visited. Our request form page uses the Meta Pixel and cookies (see Cookies and ads). The rest of the site doesn't use advertising pixels.
How we use it
- To contact you about the life insurance you asked about, schedule calls, and send reminders.
- To prepare for your call, compare carriers, and help you apply.
- To keep records required of licensed insurance agents.
- To measure and improve our advertising (described below).
Texting and AI assistance
Our first messages are sent by text. An AI assistant helps write and send replies on Tanner Hertzog's behalf to schedule calls and, if you'd rather not talk by phone, to ask the questions Tanner Hertzog needs to prepare your quote (such as your height and weight, medications, and health history). It identifies itself as Tanner Hertzog's assistant, does not give pricing or advice, and hands your conversation to Tanner Hertzog for anything beyond that. Your messages are processed by the service providers that power this assistant and our texting, under confidentiality obligations.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With insurance companies, when you choose to get a quote or apply, so they can underwrite and issue coverage.
- With service providers who help us operate (texting, phone calls, phone number verification, scheduling, AI assistance, hosting, backups, and email), only to perform those services for us.
- With Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure our ads: when you make a request through our website form or a form on Facebook or Instagram, we tell Meta that you made a request and, later, how it's going (for example, that we spoke or that you applied). To match it to you and to our ads, we send the reference number Meta assigned your form, or, for our website form, your phone number, name, state, and our reference number in scrambled (hashed) form, along with the ad click and browser cookie identifiers, your IP address, and your browser type. We do not send Meta your answers to our questions or the contents of our conversations.
- When required by law, or to protect rights and safety.
Your choices
- Stop contact: reply with something like "stop" or "don't contact me," or email us. We'll stop right away and won't contact you again.
- Access or delete: email [email protected] to get a copy of the information we hold about you or to ask us to delete it. We'll delete what we aren't required to keep as a licensed insurance agent. We keep only a note of your number, so we never contact you again, and the record that you agreed to be contacted (what you agreed to, and when).
- Ads: see Cookies and ads below.
Cookies and ads
Our request form page uses the Meta Pixel. It sets cookies and tells Meta when the page is visited and, after you confirm your number, that you made a request. Meta may use this information to measure our ads, to decide who sees our ads, and as described in Meta's own privacy policy. Taps on the form's answers aren't sent.
To limit this, you can change your ad preferences in Facebook or Instagram (Accounts Center, then Ad preferences), opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info, or block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Our website doesn't respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
Our system usually picks up a request within seconds. Our website's server keeps a copy for 30 days, as a backup, and then deletes it. After that we keep information while we're helping you and as long as record-keeping rules for licensed insurance agents require. Our encrypted backups are kept in more than one place: recent copies for a week, one a day for a year, and one a month longer. We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and restricted access, to protect it. No system is perfectly secure.
Children
Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and we keep a record of which version was in effect when you made your request. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
